Taylor Swift Beats Beyoncé, Adele and Rihanna as the World's Highest-Paid Woman in Music for 2016

No matter what's going on in Taylor Swift's personal life, one thing is certain—she's rich.Sure, you may be rolling your eyes and scoffing because DUH, but chances are you don't realize just how much dough this young songstress is bringing in.

Forbes magazine has released it's list ofThe World's Highest-Paid Women in Music for 2016, and, as you already know, T.Swift came in at No. 1 by a long shot. According to the article, Taylor, who came in second last year behind Katy Perry, made a whopping $170 million last year alone, thanks to her 1989 Tour, which grossed over a quarter of a billion dollars.
The mag also credits her total to moving "more than 3 million album equivalents during our scoring period and shilling brands including Keds, Diet Coke and App
"She has been building her fan base for years, and that fan base crosses multiple market segments," entertainment attorney Lori Landew tells Forbes.
"It's this ability to appeal to younger and older audiences, and those in between, that makes Taylor such a sure bet with both concert promoters and brands who want to affiliate with her and with the community she has cultivated."
Coming in at No. 2 is Adele with $80.5 million, almost $100 million less than Swift. The majority of the British singer's wealth comes from her album sales for her latest release 25, which became the best-selling album in 2015.
Madonna rounds out the top three with $76.5 million, much of which was from her Rebel Heart Tour.
Rihanna claims the No. 4 spot with $75 million from her Anti radio hits and deals with Dior, Puma, Samsung and Stance. Surprisingly, Beyoncé, who made everyone a lover of Lemonade, rounds out the top five with $54 million. Despite the project becoming her sixth No. 1 album, Bey still garners most of her moolah from her tours.
